Health Rights
Everyone legally resident in Norway is part of the public health system. Register with a GP (fastlege) through Helsenorge.no. Emergency: call 113. Patient rights include informed consent, access to your records and the right to a second opinion.
My cases requires sign-in so your documents and deadlines stay private to you.
Why this matters

Documents worth gathering
Not every document applies to everyone. Start with what you have — the AI can help identify gaps.

- Medication list and relevant records
- Dates and names of healthcare providers
- Receipts or exemption-card information
- A factual symptom/treatment timeline
First steps for newcomers
- 1Log in to helsenorge.no and find a GP (fastlege) in your area — you can change once per calendar year.
- 2Bring ID and your D-number or fødselsnummer to medical appointments.
- 3For urgent but non-life-threatening issues, call your GP or legevakt (out-of-hours doctor) — numbers are on helsenorge.no.
- 4EU/EEA citizens: bring your European Health Insurance Card for temporary stays.
Common mistakes to avoid
Not registering a regular doctor (fastlege)
Your fastlege is your first point of contact for most health needs. Without one it is harder to get non-emergency care.
How to avoid it: Log in to helsenorge.no and choose a fastlege in your area.
Calling 113 for non-emergencies
113 is only for life-threatening emergencies. For urgent but non-critical issues, contact your GP or the out-of-hours doctor (legevakt).
How to avoid it: Save your GP and legevakt numbers; use 113 only for life-threatening emergencies.
Not bringing ID or your health card
You may need your ID number, and EU/EEA visitors may need the European Health Insurance Card for temporary stays.
How to avoid it: Bring ID and your D-number or national ID number to appointments.
